01.04.2008 - Review of "Grounded" from Fat Rat Productions...

Grounded – Lou Richardson

Okay, so with a recession looming, another damp squib summer forecasted and corrupt politicians and councillors everywhere you look, 2008 has not started on a high has it?

But a little gem has just emerged from one of the regions most talented and respected musicians that will lift your heart from the gloom all around. Lou Richardson's CD – "Grounded" is a true masterpiece of acoustic music and we Fat Ratties suggest, nay, insist that you rush along to The Black Lion in Hereford on Sunday 2nd March to grab a copy or contact Lou Richardson via MySpace and order a copy – this is a true work of art and must be treasured http://www.myspace.com/louiserichardsonguitar

Lou Richardson has work hard on this CD but the product of her labour is well worth the wait. Rumours were circulating back in September 2007 that a CD was on the way and some of us couldn't wait to hear the finished product. If the CD was to match Lou Richardson's live performances (if you haven't seen her, then you really should) then we were going to be in for a real treat. Well ladies and gentlemen; girls and boys, the finished product that we bought from Lou last night for the modest price of £8.00 exceeds those expectations by light years – "Grounded" is indeed an exceptional piece of work.

It will be unfair to pick through "Grounded" and describe each track or say which song is a favourite etc..etc..indeed, that would serve you very little at all. You must listen to the CD yourselves and appreciate the song writing, guitar playing and quality of song along with the attention to the final mixing that Ms Richardson has to offer you. It is too good, too damn good to be true.

Lou Richardson is a true artisan in every sense of the word and like Carol Lee Sampson, whose own CD offering "Back to Life" was one of the rare CD release highlights of 2007, Lou should be on the big stage, working with the big names and stunning the country, nay world as the class performer that she is. The least you MySpace folk can do is to buy a copy of "Grounded" and/or repost this blog to your friends and may be someone out there in the big person's showbiz world, will sit-up and listen to "Grounded" and realise that this little gem, is a true "diamond in the rough!"

Thanks Lou, "Grounded" is magic.

Keep the faith,

The Fat Ratties
